The website www.themaylands.co.uk has been created.
Covering the cost of the website hosting using advertising for local businesses was discussed (charge £1 per month per advert). This would create a local businesses directory
Local community groups would be allowed to advertise for free.
The site would be used to place minutes of the Village Plan group, events, a contact form to allow comments to be sent in and details of who is on the group.
The group requires 3 main officers: Fran is acting as chair, Peter as Treasurer, a secretary is still required and a volunteer will be sought at the main meeting.
The meeting will look at members agreeing with a draft constitution for the area.
An Inaugural General meeting (IGM) will be planned to be held at St Lukes Hall at the end of January (subject to venue availability). At this meeting the officers will be elected officially and the constitution voted for. 21 days public notice will be given of the meeting. It was agreed that an interactive consultation workshop would be held at the IGM and it would be advertised to the public in a way to encourage attendance.
Youth engagement for the project was discussed. Volunteers (ideally young people) will be sought to form a working group looking at how to involve youth in the project.
A group email account has been created: info@themaylands.co.uk
Fran will create and display promotional posters for the meeting tomorrow night.
